Switching between ROMs with different RUI version

Slight explanation

realme UI 2.0 and realme UI 3.0 based ROMs both include firmware in their flashable package. Therefore, you can flash the ROM and you’ll automatically be on that realme UI firmware. The only extra step is you have to flash custom recovery made for that realme UI version.

Steps

Suppose you’re in RUI 2 ROM, and you want to switch to RUI 3 ROM.

1. Make sure you have downloaded the RUI 3 ROM and RUI 3 custom recovery.

2. Boot into your existing custom recovery. Flash the RUI 3 ROM that you desire.

3. Flash custom recovery for RUI 3.

4. If you’re clean flashing, format your data.

Caution

Do not reboot in between these steps. Only after you have done all the steps, you may proceed to reboot your device.

Tip

If you instead want to switch from RUI 3 ROM to RUI 2 ROM, the step is the same. Just replace RUI 3 ROM and RUI 3 recovery in the steps above with RUI 2.
